Set 3: DIVINE INDWELLING – KEY TO ALL THE TREASURES OF GOD’S WISDOM AND KNOWLEDGE

  1. What is the key that opens up all the treasures of God’s wisdom and knowledge and opens us up to the Solution of human pains and problems?

Contemplation on the Divine Indwelling is the key that opens up ALL the TREASURES OF GOD’S WISDOM AND KNOWLEDGE. This is what Colossians 2:2-3 says. People simply have to know what this key is and how to use it. The Key to the Solution to our human pains and problems is our union with God who dwells in us. It is when we live all the time in the presence of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit like little children that we can feel the providence of God.

Sis Aiza’s Reflection:

All of us experience pain and problems, I also witnessed someone who cried out saying “Why me, why me God”?, it causes us sometimes to separate with God because we blame him with what happens in our lives. The answer to our pains and problems don’t lie in the world. We suffer pains because we are sad. We want pleasure and to be happy. But we don’t know that what makes one happy often is the very thing that brings pain and suffering. The only thing we need is the key to the solution of problems, it is to know Divine Indwelling and how to connect with God. Because God is the only one who know the true meaning of life and happiness.

 Bro Joe’s reflection:

The suffering in the world is a sign of the conflict between our God-given nature of being image and likeness of an infinite God against limited space and time. Our attachment to space and time causes conflict against the very purpose of our being here on earth as God intended from all eternity.

Sis Lei’s reflection:

Its amazing and wonderful that we are now in this Divine Indwelling journey and you are very blessed Aiza because God has called you and your whole family to be in the cenacle and in the DI journey. Its not important to know & be aware of what we can do for the Lord but what the Lord can do for us.

Sis Rhona’s reflection:

I think we often forget that when we were created, we were made in the image and likeness of our unlimited God, and that our spirit is the true source of our life which truly feeds our soul, mind and body. And what feeds our spirit is the Holy Spirit of God which is dwelling in each of us baptised! And if the Holy Spirit is dwelling in us, then Jesus and God our Father is also dwelling in us because we believe in the Triune God – visible and invisible. To know this knowledge of Divine Indwelling and experience the loving presence of our living God in your daily life is truly remarkable!

Sis Terri reflection:

I can say in all honesty and through my personal testimony that every misery I had was all self-inflicted! Ginusto ko ang lahat nang nangyari dahil bulag ako sa tunay na nature nang pagkatao ko. Marami akong kaalaman na bahagi lang nang limitado kong pagkatao dahil ganun ko gustong isipin… TAO LANG AKO… (*I wanted everything to happen because I was blind to the true nature of my own self. I knew that a lot of this was a part of my limited being, because that is how I wanted to think… I’m only Human…)

When I met God through Divine Indwelling nabago lahat yun, I realised ANAK AKO NANG DIYOS!!! (When I met God through Divine Indwelling everything changed, I realised that I’M A CHILD OF GOD!!!)

Isang walang hanggang kaharian nang Panginoon ang tunay kong tirahan at saan Siya naroon? DITO, DITO SA PUSO KO!!! at sa puso nang bawat isa sa atin pamula nang tayo’y naging binyagan! (*The eternal kingdom of the Lord is my true home,  and where does he dwell? HERE, HERE IN MY HEART!!! and in the hearts of each and everyone of us, from the moment we’re baptised!) My whole lifetime will never suffice to measure all of God’s love to us glorified when He gave His only Son to die on the cross to save all of mankind! He sanctifies my soul.. He is faithful and will continue to fulfill and sustain me, how can I ever want for anything?

  1. Cite the bible text that shows that the Divine Indwelling is the key that opens up all the treasures of God’s wisdom and knowledge?

Col. 2:2-3 Christ-in-you “is the key that opens up all the treasures of God’s wisdom and knowledge.”

 Sis Aiza’s Reflection:

Once you believe that God is in your heart, you will understand all the things in life even problems and sufferings that happens in your life. We already know what actions to take next or the right thing to do. Because all of these are gifts of God. He will not give us problems to suffer but to learn from it.

 Bro Joe’s reflection:

Problems and conflicts are signs that God is calling us to silence and to be with Him. “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavily laden. I will give you rest.” (Mt 11:28-30) So at the instance of anything negative, the first thing we need to do is to “exhale towards our heart, relax in the Presence of the Lord” and do DI.

Sis Lei’s reflection:

For me Lent sums up who Jesus Christ is for me, and through Lent that’s where I was able to reflect and connect with Jesus. Especially at the Triduum mass and also when I started to do my own pilgrimage or *bisita iglesia. In comparison to Christmas that is full of hype around gift giving, parties etc. Lent is a celebration for me to be with God. I can feel the solemnity of God during Lent compared to Christmas.

However, after DI has been introduced to me, I am slowly being transformed to know that everyday for me should be with God and commemorating all the things He has given to me and He has done for me. Every day is a celebration of lent, Christmas. birthdays etc with God.

**Visita Iglesia (Church Visit) is a Holy Week practice in the Philippines where devotees visit and pray in at least 7 separate churches. It can be done in one day, usually on Maundy Thursday, or it can take days until before Easter Sunday if churches are far apart.

Sis Rhona’s reflection:

“Christ in you”… is the key that opens up all the treasures of God’s wisdom and knowledge. When Jesus was born, He was born with a mission – to save us all and redeem us. But not only this, he also taught His disciples about God’s wisdom and His ways. Jesus is a manifestation of our invisible God. Those who met Jesus in His time here on earth, their lives were changed or transformed. A lot of people were healed, forgiven and set free. And since Jesus is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow, our own encounter with Him makes us grow stronger in our faith and live a transformed or changed life! “God from God, Light from Light, True God from True God”… how have you encountered Christ today?

  1. Why is Col 2:2-3 extremely important for man?

To know the key that Christ is within our spirit is extremely important. In order to link with him within our spirit we must “worship him in spirit and in truth” in God’s Divine Indwelling within our soul.

Sis Aiza’s Reflection:

Indeed, True worship must be in spirit that is engaging the whole heart. The more we know about God, the more we appreciate him, the more we appreciate him the deeper our worship. The deeper our worship the more God is glorified. Being connected to him by doing Divine Indwelling prayer each time not only when we need him but every minute and hour in sadness, suffering and happiness.

Sis. Rhona’s reflection:

Back in my Singles For Christ days, I used to love it when we sang songs of praise and worship. This used to be my highest form of prayer because the lyrics of the songs help me to express my thoughts and feelings to God. We would often lift our hands up in praise as if reaching out to Him and asking Him to be with us.. Upon knowing about Divine Indwelling, I have come to enjoy being in silence with the Lord and contemplating rather than being loud in my praise and worship. It is a higher form of prayer than singing songs because doing DI is not just about praising God, but being with Him, in His loving presence.. we can talk to Him in silence, we can listen to Him in silence, we can feel Him in silence and we are closer to Him than we think because He is only a single breath away!

Join us next week as we continue to share Sis Aiza’s meditation on Set 3… stay tuned!

God bless and Praise the Lord!
